I can't believe how long it has been since I posted last..So many things going on in my life right now, my grandson's birthday party is today. They have been in Florida seeing his Granddaddy..I talked to him on the phone tonight, and he sang me happy birthday...LOL he's 2.. He saw the grinch, and the cat in the hat and many more in Florida at Universal Studios...Thats where his Granddaddy works..
I have been sewing for other people.. It keeps me busy since my last baby flew the coop...
Well I guess thats all for now.

My Baby's Owl Hat

My youngest child Brittney, although married, is still my baby! She loves owls. So I decided to crochet her an owl hat. I have not crocheted or knitted since I was young, my Mamaw Smith taught me when I would stay with her in Memphis during the summer..God I loved those summers with her. Everytime I would come, she would teach me a different craft. I think sometimes she would learn how to do something all year. just so she could teach me.

Ok back to the hat. So after watching youtube.com on how to crochet a hat..:) It started coming back to me..LOL It may not be perfect, but my 20 year old baby NOW has an owl hat! I hope you like it sweetie!

For a while now I have been throwing around the idea of starting my own Etsy shop.
My daughter is having her third baby soon, and I have realized that all the shower gifts and special little things that go along with having new babies at home, are things I could make myself.. So starting next month. which isn't that far from now, I will begin my new adventure. I am really excited about getting started. I need to take a week and make up samples of all the things I will have in my shop. I hope I will be able to make a go of it. I will be doing something I really love to do.

We took a small vacation to Gulf Shores Alabama...It was soooo HOT!!!! The campground where we stayed had been hit by a hurricane a few years back and it took most of the trees, but they had really big pads for the campers and alot of paved roads... So like any camping trip, we have to visit Wal-Mart.... Brittney saw this bike and couldn't quit talking about it...Of course her daddy and I were telling her she is almost 19 years old and she doesn't need a bike now... As we were leaving Wal-Mart her grandparents came in and ask her what was wrong and she said "they won't buy me a bike"...LOL So Mamaw and Papaw told her she could ride back to the campground with them... As you can see, they bought her the bike!

Steve and I were talking and it seems that for the past 10 years she has not had a bike... Are we that bad of parents? We have always lived on gravel roads here in Terry, and never thought she would even ride one...

I remember when she was little, we bought her a bike and she rode the wheels off of it... but we never replaced it!

Now my baby has her a big girl bike!!! Look how happy she is!

Every Sunday all my girls and grandchildren come over for what I call Lupper... It's really a sorta late lunch, but don't expect me to cook supper kinda thing.. Well yesterday while they were all here swimming in the pool, I was taking pictures of them doing cannon balls off the diving board...hehe Well Brandy, my oldest, had to do it to, of course you all know I just loved that!

Ace Hardware had an ad in the paper for these chairs for $29.95 each and the table that hooks on in the middle was $9.99. My Mom saw it and called me and said "Jan you just have to get these" So we did... they came unfinished, so before I put it all together, Brittney laid it all out on cardboard for me and said here paint this batch this color and so on and so on... I did this last night and this morning we got up and put it all together...JUST IN TIME FOR THE RAIN.... hehe

I think the colors Britt picked out were perfect!

This painting by Van Gogh, interested me, but Van Gogh had a severe mental disese, and it showed in his paintings, so when I was painting it, I tried to leave out the weird stuff....LOL Maybe that makes me even crazier....

I painted this for my brother for his birthday...I hope he likes it! I think I am done now, with my painting kick...Thank goodness huh!!!!

Brittney has a bedspread fetish...LOL She has had 14 different bedspreads since we built our house almost 7 years ago... With each new bedspread comes the yurning for new art, to match...I have gone to Kirklands several times and went to their "backroom". That's where they put all the pictures and mirrors that have fallen off their walls and broke and sometimes nothing is left but the frames..and they will allow you to buy them for like $5.00... I have bought several and turned them into bullitin boards and different things, just to satisfy her need for something new...
I recently painted some pictures for my new grandsons room, I wasn't too scared cause I figured Brooke will probably change them out before Houston gets old enough, to figure out how cheesy they are..LOL

Brittney carries her butt to Hobby Lobby and tells me now I have seen your work, You will paint me some pictures to go with my new bedspread...I thought well I can do this...Maybe she will never ask me to do this again...hehe
These are the pictures...Now my oldest daughter Brandy wants me to paint a city scape to go over her couch in her new apartment...
See the thing is I know I can't paint, but I feel like it's their way of making me feel useful to them, since they are all grown... Hey what ever it takes....

You know what I hate? Those commercials for erectile disfunction...I think this is part of the problem with the world today! Men, if you have a problem, talk to your Doctor.. We should not have this kind of crap on television!!!!
I am not a religious freak, but I do believe in God!!! All I have to do is look at my children and grandchildren and know there is a God!!!
People should respect eachother more.
I don't think you have to be rich to be happy...
I don't think people with a higher education are smarter than me, but I expect my children to get a college degree!
I think if the school system insists on the "No child left behind" policy, they should allow the other children to move up a grade....

For so long I have used this blog for mainly scrapbooking, but I think I will have to journal more often...It feels good to get your thoughts written down!!!

Brelynn's Halloween/Birthday party

Brelynn's party was this past Saturday night. We went to the Miss Ag Museum for their Halloween trick or treat party...The kids had so much fun...Then we went back to Brelynn's house for hotdogs, cake and ice cream...YUMMY....
This is Brelynn's costume...I still don't have any idea what she was...LOL

And Brooke and Casey dressed up too...How cool is that!!!!! LOL

And this dude followed us around all night....Whats up with that?

Groucho Marx was at my house tonight!

Steve is in Dallas racing, and Brittney went out of town with her boyfriends parents.. So here I am by myself on a Friday night... I decide I will dye my hair..(Yes I'm old and have to dye my hair)...I put the dye on and come in my scraproom and get on the computer to see what all my peeps are up to...After a little while I get up and get something to drink, I pass by a mirror and screamed, It looked just like Groucho Marx looking at me....(by the way I dye my eyebrows too)...

I locked all my doors!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I received this from a friend today...I thought it was so sweet!!! So I need to pass it on to six AWESOME bloggers....( some fun rules with it)...

1. My Family: I love my husband and my kids and grandkids so much! I know that this is why I am here......
2. Scrapbooking: I love going through my pictures and playing with paper...(I am just a big kid at heart)....
3. Friends: I have met some wonderful ladies on the internet, that share the same interests as me, and that makes me HAPPY!
4. Being able to do the things I love to do makes me happy, Like taking pictures, gardening, reading...etc...
5. Being able to spend time with my Mom..( I feel like I learn more and more about her, the older I get.
6. Camping: I know this sounds crazy, but it is so relaxing to me to be able to go different places, and see nature and just sit back and relax.

Let me set this up for ya....Every once in a while, my sister-in-law brings clothes over to my house that her daughter grew out of or no longer wants...

I found this table I have been wanting in Potterybarn catalog, but it was way too expensive....$1099.00 to be exact...So needless to say, All I could do is dream....until I asked my DEAR SWEET husband..I showed him the picture and off we went to Lowes to get materials.... We started Friday night...See....

Today we were able to paint and finish the table....

I ran out of paint...So I went in the house and told Brittney I was going back to Lowes to get some more paint but I needed to put some mascara on so I wouldn't look like a who-da-thought-it, and she looked at me and said....

"Mom, you are a 50 year old woman wearing a pair of shorts, with Angel written across your butt, I don't think anyone would care if you had on mascara"

Chantele challenged us at Pen Pals to do a layout on a conversation...and all I could think of was the conversation I had with the grandkids this summer...God love em....They hold my heart!!!!!!

This is the conversation:
The girls: “Mamaw, Seth drives like
a Grandma.”

Me: “Well girls, maybe he is just trying
to drive carefully”.

Girls: “But we don’t want to be careful,
Mamaw.”

Layne: “I want Brelynn to drive.
She goes faster”.

Me: “But isn’t it Seth’s turn to drive?”

Seth: “I don’t mind Mamaw.
I’m tired of being careful!”

What could be better than a hug from a big ole cat??? Brooke took this picture of my baby girlies at Universal this summer. It looks like he was squeezing them too hard...LOL.... They had fun though...

Smell The Flowers

This is a layout I have done of my grandaughters smelling flowers at Cypress Gardens, in Orlando, back in July this year...And there was a big ole bug in the one Brelynn was smelling...LOL

Ok I know this isn't for everyone....But it IS for me!!!!! My daughters went in together and bought me this watch for my early B-Day present.... I think I am trying to go back to my childhood or something, cause I love peace signs.....Now if they would just hurry up and make peace sign scrapbook supplies, I will be a happy camper!!!!I'm telling ya it's a coming....just you wait!!!!

Halloween/Birthday Cards

This is what I have been working on...Brelynn, my oldest granddaughter is almost 10..Her birthday is Nov. 19, but every time she has a party, not too many show up, I guess it's just too close to Christmas...So her Mom decided this year she would have a combined Birthday / Halloween party, with a spook house and everything...

She asked me to make the invitations....FUN!!!!! I made about 30 something invitations.....All different...

I am looking forward to my new Scrapbook Obsessions kit...Chantele and J.R. always get the latest products...and sometimes we have to wait a little longer for them, but it is always so worth it!!!!
